Growing up in a small rural village in China, I saw firsthand how tirelessly my parents and grandparents worked the farm to provide my four brothers and myself a decent education beyond hard labour.
Two generations later, that love and drive for family lives on with me, my loving husband, and my three beautiful children. Hand on heart, everything that I do, in some way goes back to the love for my family.
Just like any other mum in Australia, I want my children to be healthy and happy. Healthy living is something of a household motto in our family!
And it’s no different when it comes to helping my clients. Might sound a little corny, but my motherly instincts kick in, and I want each and every one of my clients to live the healthiest and happiest version of their lives, just like I do for my own children.
Prior to becoming a health and nutrition coach, I was a nurse for 20 years. From working as a Registered Nurse at Prince of Wales Hospital, to the operating theatres of Fairfield Hospital, I’ve seen it all. The good, the bad, and the downright ugly when it comes to health, or lack thereof.
There were patients that most definitely required clinical intervention. But for so many more, an organic change to their lifestyle and nutrition is what they needed.
It baffled me for a long time why people just didn’t “make healthy choices” that we nurses and doctors advised. It’s so easy, I thought.
It wasn’t until years later that it dawned on me. True healthy living doesn’t come about from external recommendation. It requires an entire mind, body, and lifestyle reset.
Leaving behind decades of nursing experience to become a health and nutrition coach was daunting. But in my heart, I knew this was my calling.
I wasn’t going to change the world, but I could change the world for my clients.
Bringing my extensive nursing experience and love for family and helping others into my coaching philosophy, my approach to healthy living is giving the body the proper fuel it needs to be in its healthiest form.
